I’m Alex Rawenwood. I write prose and poetry shaped by psychological depth, emotional intensity, and a long-standing relationship with language. Writing has accompanied me since childhood, evolving into both a craft and a way of processing experiences I perceive with heightened sensitivity.
I’ve been writing since childhood, losing myself in stories, melodies, and the haunting beauty of emotions too vast to contain. The piano has always been my refuge, just like books—both those I’ve read and those I’ve created.
My work moves between contemporary forms and older linguistic structures. I am drawn to archaic language for its elegance, precision, and restraint, for its ability to carry weight without excess and to express complexity with clarity.
My artistic foundation is rooted in music. I completed a classical music high school as a music theorist and pianist, an education that continues to inform how I write. Rhythm, structure, pacing, and silence play a central role in my relationship with words, much as they do in music.
I write at the intersection of literature and psychology, often exploring perception, inner conflict, and the subtle processes that shape identity. My current focus is the completion of Faded Whispers alongside a poetry collection.
My writing therapeutic process
When it hurts like hell, I tell myself: ”It’s fine, Alex. Close your eyes. Immerse yourself in that thick ocean of pain. Sink all the way down.”
”Now you may open your eyes. What do you see, Alex?”
I observe — every shade, every murmur, every distortion. And I write. It seems impossible, but I push with everything I have got left. Then I read until it no longer feels like my pain. Until it becomes a paper pain.
And you know what you can do with paper, right? You can crumple it and throw it away. You can tear it into pieces. Also, you can fold it carefully and put it in a memory box.
But does it really belong there?
